This recipe only specifies ingredients and not quantities because I only make large batches using over a bushel of basil leaves. Pesto can have whatever you want in it, just make sure you have enough olive oil and salt, as it takes more than you think of both, and both are paramount to a good pesto.
Basil leaves, washed and thoroughly dried
Place basil leaves in food processor and puree with olive oil till you have a thick paste like consistency. Add other herbs and nuts till same texture. Salt and pepper to taste. Don’t worry about how much of what you use. Just keep adding ingredients till you think it tastes good, and everyone else will think the same!!
